Savannah Bus Tour — Harris/Walz Campaign

Harris/Walz

2024-08-28 – 2024-08-29Harris Campaign 2024

Two-day VP Harris and Gov. Walz bus tour through southeastern Georgia, August 28-29, 2024. The tour showcased community-level advance work at its finest: Day 1 opened with a visit to Liberty County High School, where Harris and Walz watched the marching band practice and Walz connected with students about education as the pathway to the middle class. Day 2 hit three Savannah small businesses in sequence — Sandfly BBQ (where Walz met with local teachers), Kim's Cafe (a Black-owned restaurant where Harris previewed her small-business tax credit), and Dottie's Market. Each stop required its own advance team, security perimeter, press staging, and motorcade logistics. The tour culminated with a capacity 7,500-person rally at Enmarket Arena — the first major Democratic presidential rally in Savannah since the 1990s. Originally planned for early August but rescheduled after Tropical Storm Debby.
