Airport advance operations for the 50th anniversary commemoration of the 1965 Selma-to-Montgomery voting rights marches. President Obama walked across the Edmund Pettus Bridge alongside original marchers including Congressman John Lewis and 103-year-old activist Amelia Boynton Robinson. Tens of thousands attended. Former President George W. Bush and Laura Bush also participated. Photographers Pete Souza and Lawrence Jackson captured iconic images. The President delivered remarks from the foot of the bridge, calling Selma 'such a place' where 'this nation’s destiny has been decided.' Coordinated Air Force One arrival at regional airport.
