President Obama walked across the Edmund Pettus Bridge alongside original marchers including Congressman John Lewis and 103-year-old activist Amelia Boynton Robinson. Tens of thousands attended. Former President George W. Bush and Laura Bush also participated. Photographers Pete Souza and Lawrence Jackson captured iconic images. The President delivered remarks from the foot of the bridge, calling Selma 'such a place' where 'this nation’s destiny has been decided.' Coordinated Air Force One arrival at regional airport.
Yosemite First Family Visit
Staff RON (Remain Overnight) for the First Family's multi-day visit to Yosemite National Park. Coordinated lodging, trip plans, transportation, and structure for the presidential overnight stay in the valley. Pete Souza captured the iconic photograph of Marine One descending with Half Dome illuminated by sunset (June 17, 2016). The President also watched a VR film of the trip back at the White House. Souza later selected the Yosemite images for both the 'Behind the Lens: Visiting National Parks' gallery and his 2016 Year in Photographs.
VP Harris Running Mate Announcement Rally
Advance Lead for the historic first joint rally of the Harris/Walz ticket. VP Harris introduced Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate to a packed 10,000-person arena at Temple University's Liacouras Center. PA Gov. Josh Shapiro opened with a forceful endorsement. Walz coined the campaign's signature line calling opponents 'just weird.' Led a team of 40+ advance associates coordinating venue logistics, crowd management, Secret Service liaison, and production for one of the most-watched political events of the 2024 cycle. Kicked off a seven-battleground-state tour.
Savannah Rally — First Democratic Presidential Rally Since 1990s
Advance Lead for the culminating rally of the Harris/Walz two-day Georgia bus tour. VP Harris addressed a capacity crowd of 7,500 at Enmarket Arena in Savannah, the first major Democratic presidential rally in Savannah since the 1990s. The bus tour visited Liberty County High School's marching band, Sandfly BBQ, Dottie's Market, and local small businesses across southeastern Georgia. Led a team of 30+ advance associates across multiple stops and venues in a region that doesn't typically see presidential-level campaign events. Georgia was a must-win swing state that Biden had carried by fewer than 12,000 votes in 2020.

Capitola Storm Damage Tour — Briefed POTUS on Esplanade Recovery

Biden arrived via Marine One at Watsonville Municipal Airport, then motorcaded to Capitola Village where he walked the damaged esplanade with Gov. Newsom, toured the gutted Paradise Beach Grille, and met with business owners. Continued to Seacliff State Beach for remarks to press. First presidential visit to Santa Cruz County since George H.W. Bush after the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake. Thousands of onlookers gathered. Biden pledged 100% federal cost-share for the first 60 days of emergency work. Coordinated across USSS, FEMA, local law enforcement, and state officials.

Liberty County High School Marching Band Visit — Harris/Walz Bus Tour
First stop of the two-day Harris/Walz southeastern Georgia bus tour. VP Harris and Gov. Walz visited Liberty County High School's marching band during practice, telling the students 'our country is counting on you.' Walz, a former teacher and football coach, spoke to the students about education as the pathway to the middle class. The stop set the tone for the campaign's rural-Georgia outreach strategy — meeting voters where they are, in communities that rarely see presidential-level campaign events.
Sandfly BBQ + Kim's Cafe + Dottie's Market — Savannah Small Business Stops
Series of small-business stops across Savannah on the second day of the bus tour. At Sandfly BBQ, Walz met with a group of local teachers and praised their work. At Kim's Cafe, a Black-owned restaurant, Harris discussed her upcoming small-business tax credit proposal. At Dottie's Market, Harris told the owner she plans to roll out startup tax incentives. Each stop required its own advance team, security perimeter, press staging, and motorcade logistics — multiply the complexity of a single event by three venues in one day across a city.
